Garnett and Audrey were married at one of my favorite venues in downtown Lubbock- the Watson building. One of the best things about the Watson is the huge windows they have in the second floor area. Garnett + Audrey did their first look there, and it was flooded with gorgeous fall light. These two were perfectly smitten with each other on their wedding day- which was such a pleasure to capture. They are clearly a team, and have a deep respect and appreciation for each other- all excellent beginnings to a great marriage. Southern Elegance Design totally knocked it out of the park on the florals, food and decor. Thanks for letting us tag along and capture it all, guys!

11 great places to get married in the lubbock area
1 CommentOne of the first things a bride and groom need to book is their wedding venue. Surprisingly, we have a ton of great venues in the Lubbock area and I thought it would be helpful to list some of my favorites. My biggest piece of advice to couples regarding venue is to select a place that already looks great. You'll spend less time decorating/covering up the ugly if you simply book a great location. All of these have space for a ceremony and reception, which is a huge plus when it comes to logistics! (There are several venues that you won't see on this list simply because I haven't gotten to shoot there yet!)

brandon + lyndal • the watson building • wedding
CommentI don't even know where to start with this blog post- the amazing decor and details, the fabulous, affectionate bride and groom, the fact that I saw so many familiar faces and had the pleasure of photographing them...it was all too much fun.
Brandon and Lyndal were married at one of my favorite venues here in Lubbock- The Watson Building. It was a gorgeous September day and from the moment we pulled up to the building, I knew that my camera would be seeing lots and lots of wonderful things. Touches of burlap, coral, and succulents were everywhere. There were special tables for the kids, and customized Jones sodas (Lyndal's new last name!). Brandon's cake table had lots of John Deere on it and their bulldog, Hagan, even played a part in the ceremony.
Most of all, though, watching these two together just reminds me that God has a perfect plan. It makes me thankful that these two met and are now married. God's so good- he knows exactly what we need, and waits for the perfect time to give it to us.
I have lots of photos to share- enjoy!

josh + abby • wedding • levelland, tx
1 CommentI looked forward to Josh + Abby's big day since photographing their engagement session. These two are so obviously in love, it's a true pleasure to capture it on camera. I loved the scripture they had in various details throughout the day:
It was a verse Josh had used during his proposal to Abby- and is such a perfect picture of what God intended marriage to look like!
After a ceremony at First Baptist Church, Levelland, the guests enjoyed a reception at the Watson Building here in Lubbock. It was beautiful and so much fun!

1 CommentNow that Kinsey is a Mrs. I am excited to share her bridal session with you! I am so in love with her classic and elegant style. Kinsey told me she had a heart for old romance, and I think she nailed that look. We shot a portion of her bridals at the beautiful Watson Building here in Lubbock, and then headed outdoors for a few more. Kinsey also had a gorgeous silk flower bouquet (I'll post the vendor link with the wedding post).
Kinsey, you are such a beautiful bride!
bobby + ashley • engagement • lubbock, tx
3 CommentsFrom the first time I met Ashley, I knew we would get along great! She is super easygoing and nice, and her fiance Bobby is just the same. We had a great morning photoshoot- the weather was cool and breezy. I enjoyed getting to incorporate some things that were special to them into their shoot- Texas Tech (which is not unusual for my clients), basketball, and a few places in downtown Lubbock. Their shoot made me so excited for their wedding- I have the best couples for 2011!
I love it when they wrap the statue at Tech- the streamers are so fun!
Yes, I made them do the pose on the right- and even though they felt a little cheesy- I think it's cute! Thanks for going along with my nutty ideas, guys.
The nice owners of the Watson building saw us shooting nearby and invited us in- the light was fantastic in there!
